On Monday, Oct. 27, Penn State Health will open the doors to the brand-new, 37,000-square-foot Penn State Health Cancer Center at Hampden Medical Center. This modern center delivers many of Penn State Health’s cancer care services in one convenient location. Now it’s easier for people living on the West Shore and surrounding areas can get the care they need, when they need it.

At the new Cancer Center, you’ll find advanced cancer treatments, compassionate care teams and access to leading-edge clinical trials, all under one roof. You’ll continue to receive care from the trusted providers you know, now supported by the latest discoveries in cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

Expert teams from many specialties will treat a wide range of cancers, including breast, prostate, colorectal and lung.

Services available at the Cancer Center

The Penn State Health Cancer Center at Hampden Medical Center includes:

From the moment you walk in, you’ll see calming, nature-inspired colors and carefully chosen artwork. They bring warmth and comfort to our exam rooms, meeting spaces and infusion areas. Large windows let in natural light and offer peaceful views, helping to create a serene and uplifting environment.

Treatment areas are designed to encourage patients to connect with and support each other, while also offering quiet spaces when privacy is needed. Patients and staff helped select the comfortable chairs used during infusion treatments.

Cancer research and clinical trials offer more treatment options

Hampden Medical Center is part of a university-affiliated health system, so you also benefit from the groundbreaking research and innovation happening at Penn State College of Medicine. Our doctors and scientists are constantly looking for new ways to better understand and treat cancer, including more than 120 clinical trials focused on cancer care.

Clinical trials may offer additional or alternative treatment options, especially if standard treatments aren’t working. All trials are carefully reviewed to ensure patient safety and scientific value, and many have helped improve the standard of care for different types of cancer.
